Beatriz Costa
Graduated at ECA-USP, Beatriz Costa worked in the audiovisual production department at Itaú Cultural, where she was responsible for curating Encontros de Cinema, a monthly event focused on showcasing and discussing Brazilian films. In the field of fiction, she gained experience in production across various independent and student short films, as well as working as a production secretary for Gullane's Wander. As a director, she developed the short film BETA, which has been selected for several festivals since its premiere, including Kinoforum (2018), Mostra Ecofalante (2019), Mostra CineSolar (2021), and Cinesesc Mostra Juventude (2022). In 2024, she worked on the production of the BrLab event, focusing her efforts primarily on curating BrLab Rough Cut and on production and assistant directing for the BrPlot event.
Dafny Bastet
Dafny Bastet is a queer multimedia artist and single mother from Brazil’s Rio Doce region, renowned for blending sound, image, and storytelling to amplify underrepresented voices. Beginning her creative journey in 2016 by composing video game soundtracks, Dafny later specialized in Film and TV Scoring at the International Academy of Cinema (AIC). Her expanding career includes key roles as a sound designer, boom operator, and film editor, most notably for the feature A Planta Sob o Rio Selvagem and the short documentary Pão da Terra. As a producer and director, she led the acclaimed documentary workshops Tramas Ancestrais and Contas que Contam, both of which illuminate the wisdom and artistry of Pataxó Indigenous women. Actively involved with collectives such as Observatório Criativo GV, ArteCine, and Associação Filminas, she is a driving force in the Polo dos Vales de Produção Cinematográfica dedicated to nurturing regional film. A proud member of the House of Bastet in Brazil’s Ballroom movement, Dafny views cinema as a transformative tool for empowerment, cultural reclamation, and the celebration of diversity.
Guilherme Baptista
Guilherme Baptista is a director, anthropologist, documentary filmmaker, and visual artist from Rio de Janeiro. An anthropologist from UFRJ, his career began with independent music videos. As a documentary filmmaker, he directed Praça Tiradentes (2019) and DJ NÃO É BANDIDO (2019), which were featured in the Anthropology Journeys at UFBA and UFF, as well as Bréqui (2021). As a director of photography for Trocando de Pele (2023), he won two awards at the Guarnicê Festival 2023. At the production company TvZero, he contributed to projects such as Andança – Os Encontros e as Memórias de Beth Carvalho (2022), Museu do Flamengo (2023), and Ronald Biggs: No One Is Innocent (2023).
