Aida Karkas
Aida Karkas graduated in 2023 with a degree in Film Production from Concordia University. She has discovered her passion for sound. Her goal now is to specialize in sound by beginning her career as a sound assistant on set. Ultimately, she aspires to work in the world of documentaries and audio films.

Anthony Jean-Louis
Anthony Jean-Louis is from the French Caribbean Island of Martinique. Anthony has a passion for cinema and a desire to express himself through art. He graduated from Concordia University’s Film School. Through conversations with professionals from various departments while working as a production assistant, he has discovered his passion for sound. He has decided to pursue a career in the sound department, starting as a sound assistant and boom operator, while also developing documentaries and fiction projects that emphasize the power of sound.

Juana Rubio
Juana Rubio is a Colombian-born sound recordist, designer and producer based in Montreal. Between 2007 and 2015, she taught in the History Department at Javeriana University and the Communications Department at La Sabana University (Colombia). During this period, she directed episodes of several series for Colombian public television. In 2016, her sound composition “Ça qui est là” won the Special Jury Prize at the Sennheiser Canada Competitions.
Juana holds a master's degree in Experimental Media from UQAM. Her 2019 thesis film “Alicia” deals with notions of uncertainty and identity through the use of experimental sound design. Her most recent project in 2021, the documentary series in podcast format “Nous ne sommes pas Pablo Escobar”, is a series of sound documentaries that explores characteristics of the Latin American community in Quebec by looking for spaces of authorial representation of this group. Thanks to this project, she was invited to share her experience of producing independent podcasts at the annual conference of the Canadian Association of Journalists.
Juana works as a production sound mixer and boom operator for several independent fiction and documentary productions. In 2022, she was selected to be part of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television's Women in Post cohort. In 2024, her proposal for an audio-documentary series received a grant from the organization Content is Queen in England, enabling her to produce the pilot for the series, a project that is currently in development.
Juana continues to experiment by creating emotional and physical spaces with sound, an approach she is developing in depth with her next project “Unspoken Silence”.

Lamia Chraïbi
Lamia Chraïbi is a French-Moroccan-Canadian filmmaker based in Montreal. She is particularly interested in the themes of social justice, identity, family and territory. She also deals with subjects related to body language and social art. The human being is at the heart of her approach. Her studies in social science (Sorbonne, Paris) and in documentary (L’inis, Montreal) have shaped her sensitive and committed vision of the world. Her art is nourished by her identity questions, her migratory journey and her travels. Lamia's cinema is based on time and the trust established with the protagonists. With a poetic approach, her camera and microphone give a voice to the forgotten from diverse backgrounds.

Louiguens Istrop
Louiguens Istrop is an audio engineer and musician specializing in music and audiovisual events, as well as film post-production, notably in short films. With several years of industry experience, he has worked on a variety of projects ranging from festivals to studio productions, including film post-production. A former instructor at the Artists Institute in Haiti, Louiguens trained young talents in audio signal routing, audio recording techniques, and the principles of acoustics. Passionate about sound innovation and new technologies, he aims to contribute to creative and collaborative projects. He is currently involved in several audiovisual projects.

Malena Lupien
Malena Lupien earned her degree in Film from Cégep Ahuntsic in 2023, where she explored various facets of filmmaking. It was through her coursework in sound that she unearthed a deep-seated passion for the role of boom operator. During her studies, Malena honed her skills on a diverse range of projects, culminating in her final project, which won the Audience Choice Award at the 2023 Intercollégial de Cinéma. This project provided her with the invaluable experience of collaborating with professional actors, deepening her appreciation for the industry's demands. Malena is committed to advancing her career as a boom operator, continuously refining her expertise and contributing to the cinematic world.

Robyn Forman
Robyn Forman has been freelancing as a sound recordist on independent short films and other productions in the past year since graduating Film & Television Production at Trebas Institute Montréal. They work part-time as a stage technician at a community theatre doing lights and sound for improv comedy shows, and have experience writing and directing comedy shorts for the stage and screen.
Robyn is from Toronto where they studied and taught philosophy at the University of Toronto and worked as a librarian at an academic media library for five years.

Stéphanie Jobin
Driven by a passion for sound, Stéphanie Jobin has developed her expertise at the intersection of music and sound recording, contributing to various projects as a musician, composer, and sound engineer. With a degree in Music from Université de Montréal and a graduate diploma in Film Music from UQAM, she has composed soundtracks for independent films and podcasts. Now, she is eager to further enhance her technical skills in sound recording for film while exploring new creative opportunities at L’inis.
