WBD Access Canada x L’inis Training and Mentoring Program

The Warner Bros. Discovery Access Canada x L’inis Training and Mentoring Program, offered in French, aims to promote industry access, training and opportunity for underrepresented groups to create pathways into various occupations in film, television and interactive media in Quebec, Canada. The curriculum was designed by L'institut national de l'image et du son (L'inis).

Over the next three years, over 20 individuals identifying as underrepresented, including Indigenous, Black, racialized communities, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ2IA+, will receive nearly 200 hours of classroom instruction and supervision in the form of mentoring at no cost to the recruited candidates.

In 2022, seven people participated in the program, focused on production management. They were paid for time spent on their internship/ mentorship, during which they were paired with working professionals who guided them through various stages of production across film, television and advertising/ commercial production in Quebec.

In 2023, nine people were selected and focused on the role of script supervisor

In 2024, eight people were selected to learn about the role of sound assistant.

All roles were chosen to meet specific needs identified by various stakeholders in the Quebec audiovisual industry. L’inis collaborates closely with the professional associations, guilds and unions, most of which are members of the Institute (L'inis).
