The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television is the largest non-profit professional media arts organization in Canada. With a membership of more than 4,000 emerging and established industry professions, we are dedicated to developing, recognizing, celebrating, and advocating for Canadian talent in the film, television, and digital media sectors. The Canadian Academy strives to foster industry growth, knowledge, inclusion, and mentorship through a series of professional development programs, talent activation initiatives, and networking opportunities. Aimed at creating a more equitable and diverse Canadian screen-based industry, we are committed to discovering and nurturing all levels of talent through professional training and guidance. The Canadian Academy produces the Canadian Screen Awards, bringing together the screen-based industry annually to celebrate the country’s top talent in the film, television and digital sectors at Canadian Screen Week.
ALFF 2023 runs Feb 9 - 19 in Whitehorse in the heart of the sub-Arctic winter. In past editions, 100+ shorts, features and medium-length films from Canada and around the world will be presented. Canadian and International filmmakers are invited to submit their work. Adjacent to the festival is the ALFF Industry conference: an industry summit organized to address the ever-changing landscape of filmmaking in the digital age. In the past, the festival has hosted filmmaking and digital media luminaries for an intimate program of screenings, live multi-disciplinary performances, artist talks and workshops.
Available Light provides opportunities for Indigenous, Black, people of colour, disabled and queer filmmakers to have their work programmed and the festival awards prizes to under-represented Canadian filmmakers in several categories.

The Calgary International Film Festival is the largest film festival in Alberta, the sixth-largest in Canada, hosting an annual 11-day film festival every September that showcases over 175 multi-genre feature and short films from around the world. In addition to Calgary International Film Festival, CIFF presents film series year-round, including Top Docs, a six-month screening series of award-winning and critically acclaimed documentary films, and Global Perspectives, a contemporary world cinema series.
