Positioning hairstylists and make-up artists to become department heads

This program will provide hairstylists and make-up artists from historically marginalized communities an opportunity to position themselves for a department head role. 

WBD Access x Black Beauty Roster Hair & Makeup Department Head Program

Ten aspiring hairstylist/make-up artists will undergo extensive training from Black Beauty Roster beginning in October and continuing into early 2023. The training will include an exciting roster of Make-up and Hairstylist Department heads from across the industry lending their expertise as guest speakers, along with essential educational components to ensure they are ready to fill the department head role upon completion of this program.

PROGRAM CRITERIA

Ideal candidates will have been in their union at least two years, and/or will have served in a key stylists role at least twice and/or in a department head role at least once. Applicants will need to provide a portfolio, via a link or file upload, as well as a recommendation letter from someone with whom they've worked closely. The program is open to hairstylists and make-up artists based in the United States or Canada and will be conducted virtually.
